The Mad Sewer is Back!

In my post Here I mentioned that I had started a sewing project that would post about when it was finished. Well folks, today is the day!

After going on another one of my sewing crazes, with much waiting for notions to arrive, I finally finished my big project. This has probably been the most technical thing I've ever made and I am super excited about it.
Here it is...

My laptop/messenger bag.
I found the pattern at Joanne's for three dollars, and just couldn't resist buying it.
I'm a bag lady, but let me clarify. I don't really use bags and this one is so huge I don't know what I will use it for, I just have this weakness for sewing bags. They are such fun to sew and there are so many different styles and techniques to try.

The reason it took me so long to finish is because I had to order a one of the zippers and all the hardware.

Now that school is coming to a close and I have more time, I'm going to start some more sewing projects. I am going to try and post everything I make, so stay tuned!

Let's go climb a tree!

There is nothing like climbing a tree barefoot, with friends!

A few weeks ago I was at the park with my friends Abby and Noel, and we decided to climb trees. I actually got some pictures, so I can now do a much needed picture post.

We got had lots of fun together, and got lots of scrapes and scratches. 

We discovered it was easier to climb barefoot.  

 We come to a tree and Noel says, "lets climb this tree. Lacy how about you go first." So, I climbed the tree and somehow I managed to get stuck. Of course then Noel and Abby decided not to climb the tree after that, and from the safety of the ground, instructed me how to get down. I finally got low enough to jump down, and reached the ground in one piece. 

It was a day much laughter, picture taking and scratched arms and knees . 

We pretty much climbed every climbable tree at the park, not before our parents had warned us to "be careful."

It was grand adventure!

Hi everyone!
Not much new is going on around here.  No news is good news I guess.
I really enjoy posting pictures, unfortunately I am not very good at taking pictures...so I don't have any to share with you at the moment.

Last weekend, I had the excitement of having my dear friends Emilie and Hannah stay with me for three fun, adventure filled days!  Presently I am waiting for Emilie to edit all the pictures of our time together (no rush em), so when I receive the pictures you all will see and hear more about our time spent together.

It's sunny, and it feels like spring.

I hope you are all having a fantastic week, and and enjoy the sunshine!
On a side note: Disney's Frozen came out on DVD today!!!

Exciting News...

      I finally set up my Etsy shop!!!!! 

In October I decided to open an Etsy shop, so then it was time to figure out what to sell.  By the time I had my items made, it was December and I had Christmas gifts to make so Esty was put on hold.  In January my friend Bethany graciously took pictures of my products, and I was getting closer to opening shop.  Once I had shipping and prices fixed, all I had to do was sit down at the computer and fill out all the information.  Yesterday, I finally had the motivation to open my shop! It still needs some finishing touches, my mom is helping me work on that.  

Starting and Esty shop was definitely a longer process than I expected, but in the end it was worth it.

I still have a lot to learn about all the selling techniques and hopefully...I'll get an order!

Random Thoughts and Pictures

Sorry for the lack if posting lately, I have been at a loss as to what to post about.
Nothing much exciting has happened lately, so there's not much to write about. We have a young man living with us, so that takes some getting use to. My brother got a job at Starbucks. I guess that's something exciting, for him. I starting a sewing project, which I'm super excited about. When it's finished I will post some pictures! What I have really been enjoying is that it has actually been cool the last few weeks!! After two months of seventy-five degree weather, it's a wonderful change.
